Questions and Answers
#1
Many hope that this website will be able to provide them with past exam question papers; unfortunately we cannot post them here as they are not our copyright and the IRSE has concerns re making publically available. Candidates for the exam do receive the questions as part of the Study Pack when registering. The IRSE has however listened to the argument that a sample of each paper should be available for people to consult before applying to take the exam; I am very pleased to announce that today the 2008 papers have been posted on the RSE's website: http://www.irse.org/IRSEExam.html

We are hoping that this will become a regular feature and that by the end of the year hat October's papers will replace the previous set.

Just as many people request "model answers"- again there are some included within the Study Packs that candidates receive as part of the exam entry fee. There are some other examples posted in the appropriate thread for the relevant module on this website; if you want more then have an attempt at one yourself, post it and invite comment (as some intrepid students have already done). Indeed these often have the text of the specific question included with that posting- this is certainly convenient to all concerned and I don't see that there would be any real objection to this

This link was to the IRSE's site.
It was to what, at the time the post was made, the previous years papers.
They have been removed and now you can instead download the 2010 papers; you can do this by using the IRSE top tab on each page and then look on the Exam page to which it should take you.
Note that the IRSE has recently completely revamped their entire website and therefore I think this explains the broken link.

If you are preparing for the exam presumably you have a copy of the Study DVD and you'll find the 2008 papers are now there; the reason why we get the IRSE to post the previous year's papers is that it gives availability before students register for the following year's exams and in particular so that they are accessible before the exam review which takes place each January.
