We have had separate reports from users who are unable to upload attachments. This video shows that the user is following the correct process but the attachment does not appear and another user has described the same issue.

At the moment we do not know why this is happening to some users, and indeed, in testing for the two cases given above, when we have logged in as the user form elsewhere, it is possible to upload attachments. It does not appear to be related to the type or size of the attachments (all are within the right limits) nor the settings for the user's account. All of that is of no help to someone who cannot upload stuff. We are trying some more testing to narrow down what conditions on the user's computer means that it does not work for them.

If you have the same problem, can you please give us information about where you were doing it, how you were connected and what type of computer / browser you were using.

Thanks

Hi All,

Sorry if this isn't the write place to post. I am really struggling with uploading attachments! I struggled with PDFs, then got some success with .docx files, so assumed this was the problem. Unfortunately now I cannot upload those either.

Are there any rules regarding the type and size of file you can upload or the browser version you use?

Thanks,

I am sorry that it has taken so long, but I have finally got round to sorting out the formatting problem which meant that some of the pages had a poor combination of colours and others had some dividing lines missing on the tables. I think the adjusted theme has dealt with them and I that the same upgrade has dealt with things like the "report" button that was not working.

Hope you get on OK with the layout and colour as it is, but if you notice anything amiss, please let me know.

This doesn't seem to be working properly at the moment.
Yesterday I tried to reply to one but got a 404 error, it didn't send or save and I lost what I had written. I was attempting this from a work computer so thought possible that TfL prevented somehow (I always seem to be able to post but not attach files to the posts).

Last night I attempted to respond to a different PM from home and this time suffered the same fault initially but then subsequently was able to send on a retry.

However tonight when I attempted to reply to a third PM from home I experienced the same issue again and couldn't send, although this time by using the back button I could retrieve my text to copy to clipboard and then send to the recipient directly by email as I did know their address.

I hope Peter might be able to use his sleuthing skills to establish what might be the problem; in the meantime I suggest that anyone trying to use actually copies text to clipboard before pushing send, just in case.

Seems to affect sending / replying / previewing equally.

1. Make sure that cookies are enabled as that it how it works out that it is you.
2. Sometimes, clearing your browser cache helps.

When I tried attaching files recently I found DOCX files (the new Word 2007 format) are not allowed - I had to convert them to DOC format (old Word 2003 and earlier).

Could the settings be amended to allow DOCX and XLSX, the Office 2007 default Word and Excel formats ?

Minor point I know, hope these are single configurations settings for the forum that could be simply altered and not a task that takes anyone a lot of time ?
