[attachment=2262][attachment=2261][attachment=2260][attachment=2259]
Is Hot axle box detectors a part of safety condsiderations?

I thought the question would best sit in this forum rather than train protection, train detection or "general". Just my opinion, I could be wrong.......often I am.

Not sure if i provided enough detail about the mechanisms part to get the marks. Just went with a diagram and basic explanation. The question didn't ask for functionality, archtitecture etc so was thinking about time.

I wasn't sure about how to determine the relative temperatures over which the system will work.
I probably dropped marks on the external factors and info passed to the operator as well. Struggled to find enough study material which went into the relevant detail i needed.

Please review and coment. Would be interested to see others interpretation of the question.

please review and comment.

Started off thinking about going down the line of either a next generation remote control TCOD or a module in the SSI which can be activated in a loc or with a wireless handheld device. The question was specifically asking for an automatic staff warning system so that was the reason for my choice. I also assumed the work does not affect the line so no possession needed.

Many thanks

Looking through my answers now I've realised i could actually cut the points down quite a bit and focus directly on worker safety instead of adding "other" hazards.
Answer needs to be more streamlined.
Tried to answer it logically step by step as if I'm actually on site doing a job.

Sorry forgot to time it but i'd say I went over just a tad got a bit carried away with cable routes......

Doing some end of year tidying up and posting some mod 5 attempts from one of my candidates this year on which I made some comments before sitting down to discuss further with them. Hence they don't go into detail in those areas which were best dealt with face-to-face, but are still potentially useful for others to see the candidate's approach and the areas where I felt it could be improved. She is happy that I make these available in the hope that others will find useful.
