Atkins is once again sponsoring this event which is now in its 4th year and it is the second time it has based in central Birmingham so hopefully accessible to people from many directions.
The flyer is attached; if interested in attending, follow the relevant information

Signet are continuing the tradition of hosting this YM event.

This year the timing is just after the closure date for applications for IRSE Exam in October, hence there can be certainty who-
a) is intending to pass one or more of the relevant modules in 2016 and
b) who is at an earlier stage of their learning and exam awareness and are after more basic awareness of equipment and familiarisation with signalling.

Both groups are welcome, but spaces limited so advisable to get your applications in as soon as possible.

Respond as directed in accordance with the event flyer (attached)

Exam Review may well be 17th March- subject to confirmation

Signet Exam Workshop (possibly similar format to last year with mod2 /3/5 options) is expected to be held 2nd / 3rd July (i.e just after date by which people will have had to commit to entry for the October 2016 exam)

Hoping to run a mod1/7 day sometime around April time and perhaps a mod 4/6 in May or June but no certainty re these yet.

Hi,

I have read in IRSE website that there are supporting materials for the exams through the members' area but the only thing I can find are some exam samples, are these the supporting materials that are mentioned or are there more supporting materials to be used? Can anybody please let me know where to find more supporting material which can give me an idea on what is expected to prepare for the exam apart from the syllabus pdf file?

Regards,

It has become traditional that there is a mod1&7 Study Day sometime in the Spring and a mod 2/3/5 weekend in early Summer; subject to companies being prepared to sponsor we'd expect to do similarly for 2016. Have felt for sometime that there ought to be something for mod 4&6 and it may be that 2016 could be the year that this is achieved.
Any offers to help in any way with any of these would be appreciated!

It seems very likely that the exam results will not be published much earlier than 2015 and this has implications on when the YM AGM and Exam Review can occur - whereas this has traditionally been the "kick start" for the new exam year, this can no longer realistically be the case; as so often in signalling, the end date of the "commissioning" does not change even if "contracts awarded" slips! Hence suggest that New Year Resolutions are used as the trigger for individual's planning..............
