The IRSE has now updated the exam related page of its website for 2011 and the 2010 papers are now available for download; simply select IRSE tab in the top Green bar and you'll be taken to that page (or if you prefer navigate to http://www.irse.org/IRSEExam.html ).

I am indebted to Raj for pointing this out to me as I hadn't noticed that the 2009 papers- including the layouts 1 & 3 but not 2 (Metro) for some reason- have now been placed on the main IRSE website for download, replacing those for 2008. I am hoping that this will now be a regular action, ideally making them available before the Exam Review in January, but I certainly welcome them; better late than never!

Just click on IRSE in header on any page of this webite and it takes you directly to the IRSE's page re the exam from where the various question papers are just a click away.
The answers take somewhat longer; it is down to the student population to make their attempts and post them on this website to get feedback, and make available to others to provoke discussion.

Many hope that this website will be able to provide them with past exam question papers; unfortunately we cannot post them here as they are not our copyright and the IRSE has concerns re making publically available. Candidates for the exam do receive the questions as part of the Study Pack when registering. The IRSE has however listened to the argument that a sample of each paper should be available for people to consult before applying to take the exam; I am very pleased to announce that today the 2008 papers have been posted on the RSE's website: http://www.irse.org/IRSEExam.html

We are hoping that this will become a regular feature and that by the end of the year hat October's papers will replace the previous set.

Just as many people request "model answers"- again there are some included within the Study Packs that candidates receive as part of the exam entry fee. There are some other examples posted in the appropriate thread for the relevant module on this website; if you want more then have an attempt at one yourself, post it and invite comment (as some intrepid students have already done). Indeed these often have the text of the specific question included with that posting- this is certainly convenient to all concerned and I don't see that there would be any real objection to this

If you are looking to get hold of past papers as examples of the sort of questions, remember that the IRSE being can provide these for a fee. Also, if you know someone who has taken any modules recently, they will have been given the opportunity to have the question papers for their modules sent to them after the exam, so you might already have access to some of them in our office, or a workplace nearby.
