If you can let the YM know that my weekends are generally booked up at 3-4 months in advance, that might give them a timescale to think about in future. If it's only the date, venue and a vague subject at that point, that's enough to hold the place. Just over a month's notice, espcially just a week before term ends for the summer, is a tad daft.
