There were 4 or 5 of us who were interested in sitting/studying for mod 4 and 6.

Actually we were looking for someone to be active on this Forum to comment on posts; Tom Lee has a contact who he said he'd approach for us. Of course it may well be that the person would be willing to do some sessions in London or indeed get a range of their colleagues to do so. PJW & Peter do try to do the best we can with this Forum but others need to take the initiative re orgnising physical Study Groups.

A valuable point made yesterday re mod 4 being largely "standard telecomms" and it is therefore probably mod 6 that most needs the addition of understanding of the "railway element". In this area it may be that traditional signal engineers have have some relevant knowledge, overlapping a certain amount re the interfaces required.

As I just posted under M4 I have a possible person who I am trying to convince or coerce into helping.

I'm about to launch LU internal email throwing out a general question to anyone who might be looking at M4 or M6 this year.

My intention now, at last, after rather too much of the day job getting in the way in January, is to do some organising through February and try and get a London area study group to start in March.

The most /likely/ venue with be LU Templar House which if nothing else for those unfamiliar is conveniently centrally located close to Holborn tube station.

It all sound very LU orientated, of course its all open to main line interest.

When ready up and running I'll post to the Study Group threads and obviously be in contact with IRSE officials.
