Module 4 Reading - Thumper98 - 02-08-2017

Can anyone recommend any decent books for this module?  I have a couple from this Reading List but they are generic Comms books.
I was told the Railway Safety, Reliability & Security book is good but it is a tad on the expensive side (£130+) unless anyone on here has a copy!!!

I am afraid that I know very little about mod 4, but since this is the module for which it is possible to claim exemption if one holds a Telecommunications university degree than I believe that generic communications books would be what you'd need; there isn't specific railway domain knowledge needed for mod 4 - the particular railway applications are the topics of mod 6.

I am afraid that I am a signalling engineer who only pretends to know the difference between FTN and FTNx or between layer2 and layer3 switches; the little telecomms training I had was on Strowager exchanges, co-axial cable jointing, 4MHz carrier transmission and the new fangled 30 ch PCM.....

However a few comments
1. Aren't you leaving it very late for the exam if you are intending to sit it this October?
2. Have you completed the Study Pack for mod 4/6?
3. Have you read the IRSE Book "Railway Telecommunications"?
4. Have you tried to see if you can borrow the stated book from the IET library?

PJW, the IET library was my first thought but I checked the catalogue and it is not listed.
